God, Himself, and His Angels will defend Jerusalem, His capitol city, and then He will make it the glory of the whole earth. Earthly Jerusalem is the counterpart of Heavenly Jerusalem. The Heavenly Father chose this city as His earthly center. It is clearly the center of the whole earth. The Son of God was born just a short distance away in Bethlehem, which is a companion city to Jerusalem. In fact, Bethlehem was deeply connected to the temple worship and provided the sacrificial animals for the offering of blood. It was very Biblical that Christ was born in Bethlehem because He was the final sacrifice. It was in this city of Jerusalem that Jesus Christ was tried and condemned. The veil of the Temple was rent from top to bottom as He gave up the ghost and descended into Paradise to preach to the Old Testament saints. He ascended to Heaven from Jerusalem as He told His disciples not to leave this city until they were filled with the Holy Ghost. It will be in Jerusalem that the Antichrist will desecrate the Temple and issue the Mark of the Beast. It will be in Jerusalem that the two witnesses will finally be slain (Revelation 11). They will lie in the street of this city while the world rejoices over their death. But, suddenly, to the Antichrist’s horror, these two great preachers will resurrect and ascend to Heaven. The Battle of Armageddon will begin north of Jerusalem as the Antichrist prepares to march on this city. When that cosmic battle is over, Jesus Christ will be seated on the Throne of David and will start His One Thousand (1000) year reign of righteousness. No wonder the devil hates Jerusalem!!!

Brother Chambers, during this radio show call in thingy you mentioned your teaching about the 5 wise virgins with their extra oil getting ready. Is this a sermon you are getting ready to preach or post here or is it already done and I missed it? I wasn’t quite sure what that was about.
Even in my heathen days, i was puzzled by the fact that Jerusalem was always craved
after by the Jews(for whom i had no love being an ardent Commie sympathizer at the time)
and the Arabs,although Her economic importance was nil(why,The City doesn’t even have a
river to freshen her up!)And then there’s the devil-inspired fallacy of “The City Holy
To Three Faiths”,how nicely “progreSSive” that sounds,the sorry lord is a great
snake-in-oil(get addicted to the oil and you get serpent-bitten)merchant indeed!
So it was in red-hot murderous rage that the prince of this world reacted when the dry bones
rose again to life. The Re-Birth Of GOD’S People As A Nation Was Particularly Galling to his
fallen majesty When The Solemn Annonciation Was Made by the Qumran discovery of GOD’S WORD,
SOMETHING he thought being over dealing with long ago.The Jerusalem Biblical School
convention for the examination of the Qumran Manuscripts was held in 1948,while just outside
in the streets the Prophecy In Very Manuscripts Was Being Fulfilled amidst the din of strife,
a sound so loved by the devil.But there was no rejoicing in him for that occasion! Moreover,
his second mustachioed watchman(the first having somewhat botchedly quit his thorough but
unfinished job for health reasons,in a ruined bunker a short while ago)was caught
flat-footed at a razor-sharp moment,during the council of nations to determine what to do
with The Remnant,and casted the wrong vote! And all that just because the booted dictator
wanted to take petty revenge on the sons of Ishmael for the snub he received at the hands
of Elam over a recent territorial dispute(*)!
Before that,GOD HAD DEFLECTED the great Mufti of Jerusalem into going and see the first
booted dictator who eventually lost.We can only imagine too well what would have happened
had this sinister character,most implacable enemy of the Jews,persisted and gone see the
second in 1948.As for this one,you can let go of the Big Prize for an insect bite!
Mustache2 could then only watch in horror as the 4 Ishmaelite armies his master had
sent in to swat this most hated People-Who-Refuse-To-Die,were soundly beaten back.
But in his devil drive to thwart GOD,the sorry lord worked even harder to deny The Holy City
to Its Rightful Heir. And he succeeded.For a time. For 19 years,Jacob could only look
longingly at,across hardly 30meters of insuperable gap,The Holy Place Desecrated by the
devil’s counterfeit twin abominations. And then in June’67,The Miracle! But an infidel world
was impressed only by the tons of military scrap metal scattered from Suez to Golan,and
missed the most important: The Holy City Is Done With Being Trampled Down And Has Welcome
Back Her Beloved Children,who had only to travel the shortest distance to get The Greatest
Prize. Jerusalem Now Has Only Her LORD To Wait For.
No wonder then that the prince of this world is now using the “Palestinian” sob story to
whip Ishmael in claiming Jerusalem to spite Israel. Arabs don’t care a whit for Jerusalem,
just denying the Jews their Rightful Inheritance is enough to make them happy.
Thank you Pastor Chambers for keeping our attention on Israel and Jerusalem unwavered.
(*)Iran was jointly occupied in 1942 by British and Soviet forces to secure the wartime
supply lines.In ’45 the British withdrew,but Stalin tarried his troops in Iranian
Azerbaidjan.The Shah then,backed by Britain and the US,sent important forces in ’46
to the border,confronting Mustache2 who backed down and evacuated the territory.
But smarted by the affront,he ordered his UN ambassador to vote for the formation of
Israel to spite the Arab countries who had sided with Iran.He hoped too that the young
state will join his camp out of gratitude,against the West.As it happened,that was not
to be.And when Stalin realized what he had done,he turned on his Jewish entourage and
began purging its members.And was “stroked” abruptly in March ’53…

I wanted to share and interesting passage of Scripture that I just happened upon today as I was reading the Bible. It’s 2 Sam 24:18-25. It tells how the place of the temple was orginally chosen. The prophet Gad told David to erect and altar on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. This the king did after actually purchasing the land from this non-Jew who was still living in Jerusalem.
So, perhaps we can see from this fact that the Temple was bought from a Gentile symbolizes the fact that all nations (both Jew and Gentile) will worship at this place. This is especially, of course, emphasized by the prophet Isaiah in the later chapters of his prophecies.
All of these facts, as well as the passion of our Lord itself, tell us of the centrality of the holy city and that it will truly be beloved in all the earth!
