Mercy Is Coming Down the Road

The world cannot get so dark that you cannot find Jesus. This hated tax collector had amassed wealth on the backs of the citizens. Somehow, deep in his hard heart, the need of help had gripped him. We can only imagine him looking so proud and haughty. He was rich, so we must presume his clothes looked the part of his wealth and high standing. He knew only a little about Jesus, but something had gotten his attention.
This man wanted to see Jesus. No living soul ever wanted Jesus and wanted Him with all of his heart without finding Him. Jesus was coming down the road and Zacchaeus was determined to see him. This proud, rich man climbed a tree because his short statue rendered him unable to see above the crowd. I’m not sure what Zacchaeus felt, but it had to have been faith. Whoever you are and however heavy your load, there is mercy coming down the road. Just pick up your Bible or go to a Bible-believing church and determine, “I’ve got to see Jesus.” You cannot read the Bible with a hunger to know Jesus without the Holy Spirit opening the door.
Jesus Said to Zacchaeus,”This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.” (Luke 19:9b) Jesus had already said to him,”Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.” (Luke 19:5b) It’s time to take Jesus to your house.

Woe to those who seek not for Jesus. So many seek their god in false places…worshipping
their pride, their positions, their fortune, their sex, their drings and drugs. There is
so little time…the end is so near. Thank you, Pastor. Your leadership is appreciated.
Your essays tell the story. Many others also thank you.

  2. Hello Pastor Joseph.

I think the operative principle here is that Zacchaeus recognized the shallowness of his life and made an effort to find the remedy. Fortunately, he chose the right one – actually the ONLY one.

God will not go where he is not welcome.

  3. Thanks pastor,
Jesus stands at the door, All we need to do is open it, He won’t force his way in.
it took above 40years for me to realise I need a savior, I was a drunk for a lot of those
years, At that time I didn’t think I needed anything, I was at rock bottom, I thank GOD
he rescued me before I died an went to hell, I will forever be happy,
    GOD bless
