THE UNRELENTING ATTACK AGAINST THE SUPERNATURAL, THE HOLY GHOST

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEPARATE GOD THE FATHER AND HIS HOLY BIBLE FROM THE SUPERNATURAL MANIFESTATION OF HIS HOLY GHOST The person of the Holy Spirit has always been the right arm of God. When the earth was void and empty God acted to create an orderly universe. “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” (Genesis 1:2b-3) You cannot understand the working of one single truth in Holy Scripture if you deny that everything Divine is Supernatural and above the realm of the natural. Our entire understanding of the earth and of heaven is that one is natural and the other is supernatural. There is only one other force in all of the world and that is paranormal. That is Satan’s realm and it is above the natural but far less than the supernatural.

Because Satan wanted to be like God he is the author of the paranormal. The Father has allowed him this strange imitation of God’s omnipotent world but only until his judgment is finished. The Bible calls Satan “the god of this world.” (II Corinthians 4:4) There are all kinds of paranormal actions in Satan’s kingdom and many are deceived by his mystical abilities. If we can understand this fact about Lucifer’s kingdom then we will never be deceived. Satan is incurably religious but always with a twist of his own delusion. Every one of Satan’s imitations are short-lived and actually turn on those in his web. He can temporarily heal but when the paranormal healing wears off the person is in much worse condition.

There is a wonderful story in the time of Moses and the beginning of tabernacle worship in the wilderness. Moses and Aaron were offering a sacrifice to God and God by His Holy Spirit sent a holy fire and burned up the sacrificial offering. Two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, were tempted by Satan to imitate God’s fire. “And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.” (Leviticus 10:1-3) This kind of paranormal action has been Satan’s style throughout history. He wants to imitate God and receive the worship himself. The strange fire was paranormally lit by some strange method of witchcraft. Our world is full of magic tricks that all come from Satan.

When the evangelist Phillip went down to Samaria he found a sorcerer named Simon who was bewitching the people. He was very successful and the city was under his sway. “But there was a certain man, called Simon, which before-time in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.” (Acts 8:9-11) Phillip was preaching Jesus Christ alone and great miracles were evident. The entire city recognized the difference between the paranormal and the supernatural. The sorcerer offered money to get this power for himself but was soundly rebuked. Sorcery is always connected with false prophets looking for wealth for themselves. The city was converted to Christ and great supernatural results were evident.

Our present world is overwhelmed with the paranormal working of a false anointing. My gift today is all about a Hindu mysticism called “Kundalini” that imitates the Holy Ghost. The truth of the Holy Spirit’s supernatural gifts is wedged between extremes on both ends. There is a multitude of religious people and ministers that deny all supernatural ministry for today. The other extreme is the world of the charismatics and other extreme groups that hold no allegiance to the perfect truths of scripture. They love any kind of idea that draws a great crowd. Millions will flock to an apparition of the Virgin Mary, an emotional event where there is an unsightly demonstration of laughter, jerking, falling on the floor and people coming from all over the world. A religious show is one of the biggest things going in the church world.

There is a genuine demonstration. The Holy Ghost is God’s mighty person to transform lives and fill men with a genuine and blessed life.
* The Holy Ghost convicts sinners of the most bound, sinful condition.
* The Spirit will renew an utterly broken and helpless individual.
* The Spirit of God will heal a body where sin has left a hull.
* A homosexual can be perfected, delivered and live a straight life.
* Drug addicts can be delivered and set free of its dark bondage.
* The Holy Spirit restores marriages.
* The Holy Spirit breaks demon possession and sets the person free.

One of the greatest examples was the ‘Demoniac of Gadara.’ He lived in the graveyard and disturbed his world living right on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Then Jesus came to land and a great supernatural miracle was the result. “And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.” (Luke 8:27-28) This man was controlled by many demons, so much that he was called “Legion.”

The Holy Ghost, anointing the redemptive powers of the Jesus Christ is ready to show us the same miracles today. The bound man of Gadara was perfectly delivered from being a mindless terror and our Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. “Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.” (Luke 8:35-36) Can you imagine the religious psychologist in today’s church dealing with this demoniac? Do not be fooled by the unbelief in today’s world. The miracles of God will be evident in any church or any life where the Holy Spirit has been given control. If there are no supernatural results the Holy Spirit has been grieved and cannot manifest His glory.

    Hi Bro. Chambers!

    I’m so glad you are doing a series on the Holy Spirit! I was going to ask you to do just that.

    During your series, can you explain why the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are still for today and did not cease when the canon of Scripture was closed? I spoke to a cessationist on the phone a couple of months ago. I gave him my position and could not convince him that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are still for today. He had convinced himself. He is influenced by John MacArthur. This person believes that if a person gives forth a prophecy or gives an interpretation of tongues, then this is adding to the closed canon of Scripture. I explained that I don’t believe in adding to or taking away from Scriptures. I told him that a prophecy or an interpretation of tongues has to be spoken within the parameters of the Scriptures (in line with the Scriptures). I explained to him that when the 12 Ephesian believers received the Holy Ghost baptism, they spoke in tongues and “prophesied”. However, the Scriptures do not record what they said, but still they prophesied by the Holy Ghost. Do you agree with my thoughts here? I hope to hear you address this next Saturday on the program.

He was an evangelist for over 25 years (1954 – 1979) in the Assemblies of God. You may have heard of him, possibly. He traveled with Evangelist David O. Nunn (Bible Revival Evangelistic Assn., Dallas, TX) for many years.

    I just read this quote about Kundalini Yoga. It sounds like demon possession to me. What is troublesome, this spirit is even invading our holiness churches.

When your body becomes light like air, when you have a balanced mind in perturbed condition, when you possess inexhaustible energy for work, know that Kundalini has become active.

    When you get divine intoxication, when you develop power of oration, know that Kundalini has awakened. When you involuntarily perform different Asanas or poses of Yoga without the least pain or fatigue, know that Kundalini has become active. Yes Satan can light fires. That is not the only place he lit fires.     Great message, Pastor Joseph! I was particularly interested in your take on supposed healings. I think you got it 100% right that someone may not really be healed at all, but only appears to be so by the actions of Satan or his followers, demonic or human. I think there is also the possibility of the symptoms of a disease being demonically inflicted – removed to fool someone into believing a lying spirit or false miracle.

    It is unfortunate that most of the modern church really does doubt the existence of the supernatural and tries to rationalize God, bring him down to our level. How incredibly blind and arrogant they are – very much a modern version of the church of Laodicea we find in Revelation 3.

    I don’t think it is an accident that the last church mentioned in Revelation is precisely the dominant one we see today. Jesus knew this was coming and gave us the warning. It is just another of so many signs as to how close to the end of this age we are.

    Too bad most of organized religion is so full of itself and willingly ignorant that it misses much of the truth.
