RESISTING AND GRIEVING THE HOLY GHOST
“YE DO ALWAYS RESIST THE HOLY GHOST AS YOUR FATHERS DID SO DO YE.” (ACTS 7:51) The majority of the church world is in a state of dangerous neglect or outright rejection in their resistance to the Holy Ghost. Many Pentecostals have become so accustomed to the theology of the Spirit that their language is cheap and giddy. There can be no sovereign move to return our nation to a Biblical culture without the church waking up to the truth of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Divine and the third member of the Godhead. He must be reverenced, and given the highest degree of awe and respect. Simply speaking, The Holy Ghost is God at the exact level of the Father and the Son. His person is unique because He is the Omnipresence of the Godhead. He manifests to the Father all that each one of us is and all we say and think, and all the Father and the Son are to us.
Even the unconverted are ever before the Heavenly Father, because the Holy Spirit is the breath they breathe. The Holy Spirit is the essence of life and even nature would instantly die if the Spirit should cease to exist in the world. No wonder the Bible says that, “The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.” (Psalms 94:11) Human words carry in each sound life and death because every spoken word is ever before the Spirit of Omnipotence, Omniscience and Omnipresence. Every expression of human life is recorded in the sound banks of eternity. You should tremble just to wake up in the morning and start another day without Him filling your every deed and thought.
Every act of sin is grief to the Holy Ghost. Every Sabbath day you defile by your careless conduct is recorded. Unclean language breaks the heart of God as the Holy Spirit writes it down for the Blood to cleanse or judgment to remember. In history where revival has suddenly occurred, sinners have become broken and unable to hold up their head for shame. It’s almost impossible to understand the total omnipresence of this awesome Defender of God’s Holiness. His primary office is the perfect oversight and preserver of the Father’s holiness in this earth.
At this moment, revival is tarrying because God is restraining His Spirit. Shortly, the Holy Ghost will be released for the ultimate accountability. It is almost too much to consider when every human act of defiance and rebellious will is suddenly called to question by God Himself. The Bible says many different things to the church world about our relationship to the Holy Spirit. His many offices in the world and the church is a picture of excellence. We cannot know God nor anything of His forgiveness except with this third member of the Trinity. Your effort to know and grasp spiritual things is non-existent unless you give vent to the Spirit.
Understanding these awesome traits should drive us to seek the Spirit’s sovereign hand upon our life. He wants a free reign to convict you of everything contrary to the Word. Jesus said that, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” (John 16:7-11)
There is no doubt that men are quick to resist the Holy Ghost because we are spiritually naked before His presence. Nothing is hidden from His view and He reveals it to you so you can ask the Lord for forgiveness. Many times the sinner runs when the presence of the Holy Ghost is revealed. A sin coddling church is an unwelcome place to the Holy Ghost. They do not want Him and He leaves them to their devices. A person or a church must be totally open to the infallible Scripture before the Spirit can linger to convict the sinner.
The holiness of the Holy Ghost is so profound that flesh must be broken to welcome Him. At Pentecost when the Holy Ghost was revealed without limits, it startled the unconverted multitude. The Holy Ghost gave us a small insight. “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.” (Acts 2:37-41) This picture has been the same many times in church history.
Any action of turning from the Holy Ghost is a serious matter. Apostle Paul spoke to this fact in his letter to the Hebrew. He declared, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” (Hebrews 6: 1-6) That is plain language which much of today’s church utterly rejects.
This crowd has blasphemed Him by denying what they once enjoyed. Rejecting, denying or grieving the Spirit is the same as standing in His presence and saying, “Leave me alone, I have my own plans.” The Modern church has become what is called, “The Emergent Church.” The Holy Ghost is totally unwelcomed because He would run all the unholy crowd off. The music is so compromised that the sweet music of King David or, “There Is Power In The Blood” is not even in their song book. The Pentecostal church world has thousands of once Spirit-filled people that have settled for a song and a dance and no longer have the fellowship of the Holy Ghost. These are the foolish virgins that will soon be devastated after missing the Rapture, unless they repent.
The noted teacher and scholar, Augustine (A.D. 354-430), joined Chrysostom (quoted in an article on this subject) in sorrowing over the state of the church where the Holy Ghost was no longer present. He declared, “For who expects in these days that those on whom hands are laid that they may receive the Holy Spirit should forthwith begin to speak with tongues?” (Augustine, On Baptism, Against the Donatists, Section 3, Chapter 16, NPNF 443.) (HE IS A LOVED SCHOLAR BY BOTH CATHOLICS AND CALVINISTS BUT THEY MAY REJECT THIS STATEMENT HE MADE LONG AGO) The rejection of the Holy Ghost is a sad chapter for today’s church. It is one of the primary reasons that the lost are no longer crying out in repentance but simply getting religion and joining dead churches. Let’s study the Holy Bible on this subject until we change the tide and see a sovereign move from Heaven.

WHEN CHURCHES DIE IN APOSTASY & THE PAINFUL TRUTH ABOUT CHURCHES CRASHING
Unfortunately too many of our churches today are turning away form God. All the major denominations will die spiritually. Probably when Christ comes for us, all the major denominations will have FALLEN AWAY IN THE GREAT SPIRITUAL CRASH. (Yes it is like the STOCK MARKET falling all the way down to zero.) The only CHURCHES THAT WILL BE LEFT THAT ARE TRULY IN THE WILL OF GOD, WILL BE THE SMALL INDEPENDENT CHURCHES. The small churches are the true ones. Every big denomination will go under, and will be SWALLOWED UP BY THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS CHURCH. This will bring the rise of the Anti-Christ. In my previous letter to you, I pointed out how MOST DENOMINATIONS HAVE GONE UNDER AND DO NOT HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. Here is the PAINFUL TRUTH. The Catholics & Orthodoxes do not have the Holy Spirit in their churches because their churches are a mix of JUDAISM & PAGANISM where where they worship SEMIRAMIS (renamed “MARY”) and other false practices. The liberal mainline churches do not have the Holy Spirit because they totally turned away from God and have endorsed sinful practices such as homosexuals, and they deny that Jesus is God. The Seventh Day Adventists and Garner Ted Armstrong’s group also do not have the Holy Spirit because the go by OLD STYLE JUDAISM, AND PRACTICE SALVATION BY WORKS, The Mormons have the salvation-by-works problem too. So they also do not have the Holy Spirit. Most of all the PORK-BARREL PROSPERITY ENTITLEMENT PREACHING CHURCHES do not have the Holy Spirit, because they do not preach REPENTANCE, but instead tell people they can live the lifestyles they want to and that God will multiply their income 100-fold if they support the PORK-BARREL PREACHERS. So the PORK-BARREL CHURCHES do not have the Holy Spirit either. THE HOLY SPIRIT CERTAINLY WILL NOT DWELL IN HOMOSEXUAL METROPOLITAN (ALL GAY) COMMUNITY CHRUCH, because Homosexual behavior is one of the BIGGEST SINS in the eyes of God. When the truth was pointed out in my previous letter that most churches DO NOT HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT because they got away form God, someone complained about “INTOLERANCE!”. If that is too painful to you that is your problem. Even Jesus said that only the NARROW WAY LEADS TO HEAVEN WHILE THE BROAD WAY LEADS TO DESTRUCTION. Unfortunately MOST DENOMINATIONS DO NOT HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT BECAUSE THE GOT AWAY FORM GOD OR WERE FALSE CHURCHES TO BEGIN WITH. By the time Jesus comes just about EVERY DENOMINATION WILL HAVE GONE UNDER SPIRITUALLY. Then even MORE DENOMINATIONS wont have the Holy Spirit. A few years from now even the denominations that are Conservative now, wil turn Liberal later where even the SOUTHERN BAPTISTS and the PENTECOSTALS endorse GAY MARRIAGES just like the Episcopals, Methodists, and Presbyterians. Only the Small Conservative Christian Independent Churches will remain standing in the will of God. So at the end, almost NO denominations will have the Holy Spirit. SO if you complain about INTOLERANCE, you need to check an see if you are really saved. JESUS DOES NOT GO BY POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, BUT DEFIES IT. That is exactly why the CRUCIFIED HIM. His message is TOO PAINFUL. Those who complain of INTOLERANCE ARE FEELING THE PAIN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT CONVICTING THEM OF THEIR SIN. REPENT!!!

I don’t know what anyone else thinks, but this article was both
thrilling and bone chilling at the same time. WOW!!! I realize that
one of the attributes of our awesome God is His Omnipresence, but
what a wonderful description and breakdown of The Holy Spirit! This
is powerful and should be read and studied by every Christian. As
Pastor Chambers so often says, this article was breathtaking…

Amen, Brother Black…the man gets it…the churches today have gone politically correct. It’s hard to find a bible believing, spirit filled church and I know because I get emails everyday lamenting this very fact. Many are becoming home churches, or living room churches of the Living God, and will not submit to the doctrines in these last day churches that I believe grieves the Holy Spirit, that if you walk into their services, you think you walked into a Led Zeppelin concert…shameful.
