Heaven Is An Eternal Dwelling Place

Monday, January 25th, 2010

How long has it been since you even thought about eternity and how long eternity will be? If you ever calculate eternity and let it register in your heart, you will rediscover the fear of God. There is a song on this broadcast by a dear brother who is now in Heaven entitled, “Where Will You Be a Million Years From Now?” You can receive a free copy of the album by e-mailing me at jrc@pawcreek.org. I remember a favorite song of mine when I was young, “Where the Soul Never Dies.” That kind of music has been taken off the charts in the day in which we live. Nobody wants to talk about eternity nor the fact of an eternal Heaven and an eternal Hell. However, for a faithful believer there is no subject more thrilling than our future. I’m asking every friend of this ministry to make eternity a constant witnessing conversation. If you get a sinner interested in this subject, their next thought will likely be, “How do I know where I will be or how to get ready for eternity?” We have a new body awaiting us that makes our future bright with expectation. “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” (II Corinthians 5:1). My parting words, “Where Will You Be a Million Years From Now?”

Heaven is a Magnificent Place

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Heaven is not only a real place, it is a magnificent place! Apostle Paul was caught up to the Third Heaven and was not able, even with all his brilliant words, to describe it. It took his breath and he declared that it was unlawful for him to tell us what he saw. The Psalmist David said that the castles were made of ivory. We know that the richest items on earth are the building materials in Heaven. A wonderful example of what heaven must be like is the description of New Jerusalem, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst” (Revelation 21: 21-1, 19-20). That’s just a portion, but it reveals the grandeur and beauty. I get amazed when the world tries to make the Book of Revelation a picture of calamity and destruction. The sorrows of that book are only a picture to the end of sin and the finishing of Satan. There is not any book in the Bible more perfect and beautiful than this closing prophecy. This book is the last written words of Jesus Christ. To reject it is to be damned eternity. Do not be mad at me, Jesus said it!

Heaven Is a Real Place

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Heaven is just as real of a place as the earth. Why would anyone dare believe anything different? God actually has a real throne in a magnificent temple where He reigns over His entire universe. Every star and planet is His creation and beautifies the heavens. His angels are great in the powers which He gave to them and they preserve the total cosmos for His Holiness. The city of Heaven is beyond description. David spoke of this great city, “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King” (Psalm 48:1-2). This is where He directs all the world’s activity. “The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men” (Psalm 11-4). Jesus is right there with the Father and sits on His right hand. Stephen saw Him in this glory, “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God” (Acts 7:55-56). Next week, we will discuss what it will be like to ascend to this magnificent city. (Listen to this broadcast for our health suggestion of the week.)

Blessed is the Death of the Righteous

This broadcast is a Tribute to Billy Harris. This old fashioned-gospel preacher, musician, and singer touched thousands and thousands of lives. He was unique, so down to earth that you knew he never thought highly of himself. His style was not learned from someone else because there was no one like him. Since he was plain and simple and never heralded in this life, his glory is yet to come. He sang the Gospel: songs about his own failures, songs about sinners playing with their soul, songs about faith and trust in our wonderful Lord. Most of all, he sang about the Lord Himself. His guitar music was breathtaking! I must admit that he already seems bigger than life. At our Ministers’ Retreat he was known for sitting down after the evening service when we were fellowshipping to play and sing as if he was on the Grand Ole Opry. Of course, he only played the ones that had a Biblical message like, “The Great Speckled Bird” or “I Saw the Light.” He could take me back and make me think I was a boy listening with my mother and dad to the radio. He was at our October 2009 retreat in the mountains of Tennessee and thrilled us one last time on this side of eternity. I love every song on this broadcast. You can order the two CDs of Rev. Harris for a total of 31 songs ($12 each, plus 15% S&H). Call our office at 1-800-338-7884. There will be a health tip every week this year somewhere near the middle of the program. Do not miss a broadcast!!

The Only Name that Redeems the Soul

Monday, January 25th, 2010

The new theology in the emergent church is the acceptance of all religions as just different ways to the same end. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is too narrow and without compassion. Since Hell has been excluded, the fear of God is no longer a part of human emotions. In such a watered down state anything straight and unbending is to be rejected. This condition of the church world is a perfect fulfillment of Scripture. “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition . . .” (I Thessalonians 2:3). The phrase, “Falling Away,” was a Greek word Apostasy. It means “to leave the truth and move into error.” READ CAREFULLY!!!!! There are beautiful reasons why Jesus Christ alone can save souls. He was the only man in human history that possessed BLOOD that was pure and without the nature of sin. His Blood has redeemed every soul that has trusted Him only. Anyone that says that a soul can be saved without Christ’s Blood “has crucified Him afresh and put Him to an open shame” (Hebrews 6:6b). That soul will be eternally lost if they refuse to repent. The Roman solders or Jewish leaders did not kill Him, He died of His own accord. He said, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (St. John 10:18. ) The Son of God is the only way to escape eternal Hell and inherit eternal Heaven.

EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED FOR HAITI!!

Please Send This Email To Everyone You Know! This Is A Wonderful Way To Give And Know Your Money Is Going To Meet Hurting Needs!

Our Home for Children in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, is still standing! The walls around the compound are completely down. All the chickens, rabbits, and other outdoor animals, etc. were killed in the earthquake. They have a small amount of diesel fuel and some food; but, the director, David Lloyd, said that every place where he can cash checks or buy supplies was destroyed. They do not have any available funds and nowhere to spend it if they had it. They do not have any safe drinking water available, but are having to boil what water there is before using it. Unless aid gets to them quickly, they will be in dire need. They feed about seventy people every day in the House of Compassion. They also have an additional 300 people sleeping in their church. Propane is the fuel they use for cooking and it is going to run out very soon. Then, they won’t be able to cook until their supply is replenished.

We have a group of ministers in our fellowship that are coordinating the shipment of a container to them as soon as the docks are opened. At this point, the immediate need is money, which we will send as soon as it is possible to do so. We will stock the container with necessary items from the list that they will provide before it is shipped to them. We will need to ship building supplies as well as all household items. There will be a weekly report of our progress.

This ministry is much larger than just the Home for Children. They have approximately 800 children in four different schools. They have received very little information on all the school families, but already know that some of their teachers were killed in the earthquake. They are expecting to hear that a large number of their school students were killed, also. We do not have a report on the second Home for Children across town from them. Bro. Lloyd tried to make some stops to check at the schools and churches; but, it took four hours to make what is normally a forty-five minute trip. The former residence of the Home for Children, which was presently being used as one of their school buildings, was partially destroyed and more than likely is not salvageable. Another school building is in the same condition.

I would like to raise a minimum of $100,000. There will be hundreds of families that David and his staff will need to assist. Rebuilding the walls around the compound will cost $20,000. (A wall is a necessity in order to provide adequate security to ensure their safety.) All the glass items throughout the home were broken. The repairs in the main building will be at a great cost – no estimate is available at this writing.

We never use one dollar of mission money for personal mission travel, including the cost of hotels or food. All funds received will go directly to the mission project. If someone would like to send a gift earmarked as “Travel Expenses,” that would help me with my traveling expenses. I am scheduled to visit the Lloyds in February and preach a revival for their home church. Rev. David Lloyd is ordained with our ministers’ fellowship, Bible Holiness Ministerial Fellowship. He and his wife, Alicia, have three children of their own. Many of you will remember when their two oldest children, Davy and Hannah, were kidnapped.
