Why The Holy Ghost Calls Us To Holiness

You cannot understand the person of the Holy Ghost and not feel the call to holiness. The day of Pentecost was not an unplanned event. The great Feasts of Jehovah that Israel celebrated for centuries was a foreshadow of all we have and will experience in our New Testament. Pentecost or the outpouring of the Spirit was part of God’s eternal plan. This person of the Holy Ghost is very God even as the Father and the Son are very God. His nature and character is Holy and He cannot dwell in an unholy place. Either your temple or body is holy or He will never inhabit your life. When the Holy Ghost filled the 120 persons in the Upper Room they spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. The entire company of Jews and proselytes that had come to Jerusalem for this Jewish feast heard them in each language they represented according to there country. The great person of the Holy Ghost was careful to give someone the language for each person presence. These Spirit filled disciples did not know these languages but the Holy Ghost did. The main results of this Baptism was that the Lord Jesus Christ was now real to these Godly souls and the nature of Christ was manifest in them. It was said of them, "They have been with Jesus".
