The Sanctified Soul A Watered Garden

The soul, which is in each of us, is the center and reflection of all that we are. Jesus spoke of the soul as the “eye” and said, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matt 6:22-23)

The soul is the real “me” that laughs or cries, prays or plays, surrenders or rebels. My soul loves people or hates people.

Every attitude, action, conversation or good deed is the real me reflecting the life, good or bad, that exits from my soul. The body is the external picture of the soul. It is my personality living out of my life as I have allowed it to develop in my years on this planet called earth.

Solomon spoke of the soul as the heart when he said, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)

The eye, the heart, the mind, or the natural man, as Apostle Paul called it, is the center of all you are and all you will ever be. Whatever fills this inner person cannot be kept inside. It will shine like a light or be clouded like the night. The great thing about your soul is the fact that you are in charge and you can turn your life around or set your sights on higher ground. If life is a mess or bogged down in despair, there is a Maker that is waiting to be invited to help.

The Prophet Ezekiel speaking by the Holy Ghost said, “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right,” “… he shall surely live.” (Ezekiel 18:4-5, 17) The Father has created your soul, it is His. Now give it to Him and start a new life in tune with the Creator or improve the walk with Him already started.

The soul of man has a nature of sin from Adam, so it is a prodigal until there is a transformation by the Blood. “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (I Peter 1:18-19)

The soul washed in the Blood has a clean, spotless slate ready to build a new life. The clean soul is like a sponge and must be soaked in the right stuff. Remember what Jesus said, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” The Lord Jesus wants to sanctify or set apart to Himself your soul and to preserve it until He comes again. Look at these Words from the Spirit, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. (I Thess. 5:23-24) A sanctified soul is not only saved but purified so the Lord Jesus can impart His holiness in your very mind, eye, heart, or nature. This is when clean living becomes a joy. It is His life springing from your soul and spreading out into your whole personality. Apostle Peter said, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (II Peter 1:4)

The Father in His Son wants to make your soul “like a well-watered garden.” Do not live another day for the old man of sin or be satisfied as a believer without the joy and fullness of a Jesus-saturated soul. Jeremiah prophesied of the day of our Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ stating, “Therefore, they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord …. And their soul shall be as a watered garden, and they shall not sorrow any more.” (Jeremiah 31:12)

Your whole life will prosper and explode in beauty with the prosperity of your soul. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (III John 1:2) Isaiah said it wonderfully. “Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.” (Isaiah 55:2) “A Fat Soul”, what a joy it is!
