The Beautiful Wrath of God

Everything about the Lord God Jehovah is beautiful in Holiness – even His wrath. There could never be a new Heaven and new earth purified to perfection without His wrath against sin. The killing of unborn children by abortion or the offering of them on an altar to Moloch would be an eternal shame but for the wrath of God. Sin – – every act contrary to the Word of God will be judged and the penalty of debt paid by the disobedience. GodÂ’s wrath demands perfect justice before we move into the New Jerusalem and the New Garden of Eden.

A mamby-pamby god is the sickest creation of this post modern world. A God that would accept an unfaithful husband or wife that refuses to change and still call them his sons and daughters is disgraceful. A God that would accept the depraved actions of men with men or women with women is not a God at all but a fallen spirit. Our GodÂ’s wrath against such destruction is proof of His High and Holy nature. Even sinners watching professing Christians that live shabby lives feel repulsed and turned off to such hypocrisy.

It is this very wrath against sin that moved the heart of our God to send His Son to be our sacrifice. If God did not care about sin and found it acceptable in His world, He would have never sent His beloved and only Son to die on a cruel cross. When the modern preacher dares to preach that God’s saints can live in sin, they are blaspheming against the Holiness of God. It’s contradictory to preach the double standards that rule in today’s church world. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). If God had not hated sin, His Son would never have suffered such hell at the hands of men.

The Holy Scripture – – note that word holy before Scripture – – has laid sin bare form Genesis to Revelation. The Book of Romans called by many “The Romans Road,” speaks with great clarity to those that practice sin. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:28b-32).

The wrath of God against sin that is so perfectly stated in the Bible compels us to sound the alarm. It will be too late when the judgment bar opens for business. The only sin that will be forgotten are those that His blood has been allowed to wash away. When a sinner truly repents and turns away from their sins, they are forever removed. The Prophet Isaiah settled these issues for all of us. He stated by the Holy Ghost, “For thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back” (Isaiah 38:17b).

Every saint that has turned wholly to Christ must ever live in the Grace that preserves us. His beloved John gave us the pattern of victory. “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2). Sin not, and if or when you fall, there is a sacrifice called, “the propitiation.” The altar is not just where we were converted; it is where we live. “They which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?” (1 Corinthians 9:13b).
