THE ZEAL OF THINE HOUSE HAST EATEN ME UP

The Holy City of New Jerusalem is called a “Tabernacle,” a “Temple,” and a “City.” It is actually all three. The throne of God and of our Christ will be the glory of the “City.” It will be a “Holy of Holies” and also the city of many mansions where the Bride lives forever. David, the great singer and songwriter, concluded his masterpiece, Psalms 23, with the following words. “and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” (Psalms 23: 6) In modern language, “New Jerusalem” is a church, the House of God.

In the great days of the New Testament, God’s House was a sacred and holy place. You can easily determine the fallen state of society by the loss of a love for God’s House. Our generation has reduced the church to a clubhouse or barnyard. Dressing for church has become almost non-existent. I have watched bare-footed people with a baby in their arms step to a sacred place of worship and lead the singing. Ministers will step behind the pulpit like a drug-induced rock singer would sing a song by demonic powers.

Satan has determined to blaspheme everything that represents the Creator, our God Jehovah. Every truth of the Holy Bible is being blasphemed by evil designs. Every day you can watch humans going deeper into the mire with desecration of the holy. Holy marriage is being blasphemed by same-sex imitation marriages. The human body is on display like animal meat, hung up for sale. What began as a modern day correction of the Scripture (falsely stated) has become an utter display of Bible compromises too silly to name.

Jesus Christ was our perfect example of love for the sacred House of God. When He entered the Temple and saw the abomination, He became the mighty Prophet that He was. “And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; and said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.” (John 2:15-17) What an example of His purity in all matters of the Holy.

I have never seen a genuine conversion, someone truly delivered from the sickness of sin, which did not cause them to love God’s House passionately. The sweet Psalmist of Israel wrote by the Spirit, “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” (Psalms 92:13-14) The Holy City of New Jerusalem will be the temple of God for all eternity. The Bride will dwell in mansions of “beauty rare” and will welcome the saved of the earth to behold the grandeur of the city and worship in His Holy Temple.

  1. DESECRATION OF HOLY TEMPLES (CHURCH BUILDINGS) TODAY

    Dear Joe Chambers,

We have desecrated our temple buildings today. If the Prophet Jeremiah was around today, He would say especially to the Laodicean Churches today. What Jeremiah would say to us today “THUS SAITH THE LORD ‘BECAUSE HAVE DESECRATED MY HOLY TEMPLES (CHURCHES), AND HAVE SINNED AGINST THE LORD YOUR GOD, BEHOLD< I WILL SEND THE BABYLONIANS (MUSLIMS) TO SET FIRE TO YOUR TEMPLES AS WAS DONE TO ISRAEL'S TEMPLES IN 586BB & 70AD. AND CHURCH BUILDINGS AND CATHEDRALS WERE SET AFIRE.' " This is what the Prophet Jeremiah woudl say to us today. Prophecies in the bible have a way of repeating themselves in fulfillment, especially the JUDGEMENT PROPHECIES. It happens in every socielty that sins. I am afraid that Jeremiah's prophecies are about to repeat themselves in America. See Jeremiah 7:2-15,20 Jer 27:5-8 Jer 32:28-29 Jer 37:8-10 Jer 39:5-8 Here is a Prophecy that Jereiah would give us today. "AND CATHEDRALS AND CHURCH BUILDINGS WERE SET AFIRE". I am afraid this prophecy is going to be fulfilled literally in American and in Europe. It is not a pretty picture and I hope it does not happen before the rapture. But if our society falls in to chaos and riots (wars and rumors of war, as Jesus calls it). Or is ISALMIST TERRORISM HITS OUR SOCIETY ON LARGE SCALE, it could happen much sooner. The most likely time for this to begin is when the second seal of Revelation chapter 6 is when the PEACE IS TAKEN FORM THE EARTH. Let's pray that God delays the fulfillment of Jeremiah's prophecy for American and Europe. But his patiences with us is running out. So Jeremiah's prophecies for America could be literally fulfilled in our lifetimes if society falls into vilent chaos with large losses of life.

Please Pray that this will not happen before the rapture.

    SIncerely,

    Keith Black

  2. For the truly born-again regenerated child of God, going to the sacred place of worship is not
an option, it is a privilege! I have a burden for those who once could not wait to go to the
house of the Lord, but now enter into His gates only when it is convenient and does not
interfere with their busy schedule. Going to church is top priority for Rapture ready saints.

  4. A recent article was published on Beliefnet about the decline of the Episcopal Church (TEC) and as one who once belonged to this now-apostate denomination I’m not surprised. According to the article it is in serious financial trouble and is looking to sell its headquarters in New York. Between its falling membership and the $18 million it has spent to evict those who believe in God’s Word rather than submitting to TEC presiding bishop Katharine Schori’s heresies from their church property, it is well on the way to insolvency.

Many of the buildings it has effectively stolen from those who built them over generations are still beautiful in appearance, but now empty of the people who once worshipped within them.

Truth be told, TEC as a denomination has been empty of the Holy Spirit long before the people were either forced out or walked away in disgust from their church buildings.

In my opinion, this is one so-called church that DESERVES to be out of business before its lying doctrines imperil the salvation of any more souls!

I can’t help but notice the parallel to ancient Israel’s temple. The Bible shows repeatedly how its religious leaders abandoned God and his Word for their own false doctrines and yet right up until the time it was thoroughly destroyed by Titus’ Roman Legion in 70 A.D. it was a magnificent sight to behold, something Jesus’ followers commented on at the start of his Olivet Discourse.

When the God is pushed out, a place is dead even if it still looks to be alive. But finally the time comes when it can’t even maintain the illusion of life.

Contrast this to the New Jerusalem where God’s Presence can never be removed. It will exist for all eternity and those who live there will know and see God face to face. I expect in every corner of the New Earth and New Heaven will be filled with God and no one there will ever be alone or forgotten.

At long last those who have believed across the thousands of years of human history will finally be home!

  5. Since God dwells in the local assembly today (Matt 18:20), do you and I love the assembly because the Lord Jesus is in our midst? How do we show that love? Do we attend every meeting we can, so that we can be with Him in His house? If we skip assembly meetings, the Lord Who is there will miss us and be grieved. In Psalm 26, David expressed his love for God’s house and how it affected his life.
