The Holy Ghost Fills Men With Jesus

The greatest sin in the American nation and the church is that we have grieved the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person and He possesses all the attributes of personhood as the Father and the Son. He loves, He calls, He has compassion, and He can be wounded by rejection. Every great revival was propelled by a fresh understanding of the role of the Spirit in the church. He alone can exalt Jesus Christ in your life and in Christ’s church. Sinners know they are sinners when the Holy Ghost is convicting the congregation. All our human programs are nothing but noise until the Spirit is at work in our midst. The Book of Acts is not a relic of the past, but the manifesto of the New Testament church. If we ignore it, we will continue to move toward the emerging church of failure and compromise. The name on the church sign is irrelevant, if the Holy Ghost is not in charge of the church. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). That’s an awesome statement that applies to our personal life as well as our church life. Again, Paul said, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” (Romans 8:11). The church world needs a Holy Ghost revival. That’s what happened in D.L. Moody’s day. It happened in the early days of Billy Graham. A sovereign revival occurred at Yale University during the first decade of 1900 A.D. I have a book that was written by the very men and women of God that led that revival. It was a sovereign move of the Holy Ghost. That alone will save America from a revolution.

    Brother Chambers,
May the Lord bless you for this much needed sermon. Your sermon seems like an echo of the prayers my husband and I are sending to our Father each day in Christ Jesus’ name. This is one of those beautiful sermons that needs to be heard more than once, imho. I could make mention of so many things you’ve shared but instead I’ll just say AMEN!!! We NEED a genuine Holy Spirit of Truth Heaven sent repentance-bringing, Christ-glorifying REVIVAL ASAP!!! Oh that we would do like the little ol’ widow of Luke 18 and knock, knock, KNOCK until our Just Judge Avenges His Elect who cry out to Him day and night. May our Lord lay it upon your heart to preach more of these sermons brother.

    Hi Brother Chambers

I have a question; IS IT BIBLICAL to fall backward? And if I don’t believe that
this should be happening in many churches of to day, am I grieved the Holy Ghost?
Am I wrong believing that it is not fit to lay on the floor before the Fellowship?

    Thank you for the Post!

The Holy Spirit is the Administrator of the Church in the World. He is the Comforter to the Church of whom Jesus say will replace Him when He ascends to the Heavenly Father.

The Holy Spirit represent Jesus on earth. Through Him we become Christlike through the growth of the 9 Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Through Him we become Supernatural, we are empowered when we exercise the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.

He is the One who convicts the world of sin & righteousness. He is the One who holds back the tide of evil. He is the One who will ressurrect, rapture, translate us to meet Jesus in the sky. He is the One whoseals us with eternal life & He is the One who cause us to cry Abba, Heavenly Father & glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

At present the Holy Spirit is our All in all on earth. Without Him the Church is but a shell, empty & void of life.

Therefore do not grief or quench the Holy Spirit in our lives & in the Church. Don’t sin against the Holy Spirit.

From an historical persepctive, several other important revivals may be mentioned: the first that comes to mind is the First Great Awakening that occured in the eighteenth century, particularly in America, from the preaching of Jonathan Edwards and also George Whitefield; but it also occured in England from the ministry of John Wesley. The Second Great Awakening was in the early ninetheenth century, which began actually in a Kentucky camp meeting and spread throughout an America grown secular from frontier living and the influence of Deism. Both of these occurances are very important in the history of the United States in that it helped form our national conscience toward personal religion which I think is an absolute bedrock of our national identity.
It might also be mentioned that from these two great awakenings and other revivals came the great missionary impetus of American churches as well as the spread of evanelistic churches like Methodism and subsequently the Nazarenes, Pentecostals, etc. In short, much of what we as serious minded American Christians hold dear is in fact a result of Holy Spirit movements.
Isn’t it interesting that evangelicalism is so maligned today in our press when in fact it has been the moving force of reform and national conscience?

It might be better if it saved America with a revolution…If it saves America from a revolution, then we continue through the meat grinder while the Luciferians continue to destroy us with glee.

  8. Donn Parker, Ph.D. says:

If only Pastors would wake up. So many refuse to bring up the subject of sin.
The Emerging Church continues to grow because sin is never mentioned. Do they
realize that we are truly in the last days and their defination of “being a Christian”
    will not cut it.
Thanks for great writing and for staying with the Word. You are greatly appreciated.
