THE JOY OF A HOLY GHOST FILLED LIFE

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 14:17) THERE IS NO SCRIPTURE THAT EXPLAINS A SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE BETTER. Sad sack Christians are a rebuke to the very victory that the Biblical life has provided. The Holy Ghost is the Third Member of the Divine Godhead and He cannot be defeated. Every action of the Holy Ghost is Divine and perfect. He never prays a prayer in you that is not answered. No sorrow nor gloom can enter in any realm where He is the Master.

Our present church world cannot keep the House of God pure, much less the world outside the church. The problem in America is not the White House but God’s House. Judgment must begin at the doorsteps of the church. “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?” (I Peter 4:7-18) The church without the visitation of the Spirit is actually a shame and a reproach to all of us. If the American churches would return to the simple truths of the Holy Scripture, the political world would tremble before us. Instead, they brag of our empty effect where the ideas of abomination rule our land.

Take a look at the day of Pentecost in which a crowded city stopped in their tracks. This multitude was in Jerusalem to celebrate religion, but it was empty religion just like America today. One hundred twenty very simple disciples were filled with the Holy Ghost. The city was arrested and a great division became evident. Some were smitten by the anointing from Heaven and many rejected and began a war against God. Yet the joy of Pentecost was contagious and three thousand souls were added to the New Testament church in one day. The power of this anointing did not diminish until the church began to compromise. Today’s church justifies this spiritual death by saying that the Gifts of the Holy Ghost ended when the church was fully established.

There is not one verse in the Bible that teaches such foolishness. Look at the Holy Scripture. “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.”

“And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:…” (Acts 2:1-17)

The crowd begin to ask the question of how they could have this beautiful experience. Listen as they desire what they have heard and seen. “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:38-42) Apostle Peter answered their question, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”(Acts 2:38-39) This word from the Holy Ghost can leave no doubt that the promise extends all the way until today.

Jerusalem had been filled with the righteous and devoted Jewish people for the Feast of Pentecost. This feast occurs fifty days after the Feast of Harvest and is sometimes called, “The Feast of Revelation.” The fact of the Holy Ghost being poured out on this feast truly fulfills the idea of “The Feast of Revelation.” The glory of the Holy Spirit is found in His authority of the entire Word of God. The word, Pentecost comes from the word, “fifty,” fifty days after the Resurrection of our Lord. It is a slight of the Holy Bible to suggest that any part of this awesome occasion was only temporary and would end after the Church was established.

The great events of Calvary, the Resurrection and Pentecost are perfectly joined. To minimize one is to minimize all of them. We live in the glory of all that our Lord has done. The Holy Bible is a perfect whole and cannot be treated by choosing what suits you. Its all or nothing. The liberal church world has robbed the saints of the joy from the Lord that comes when we are full of the Holy Ghost.

  1. JUDGMENT OF CHURCHES THAT TURN AWAY FROM GOD

    Dear Joe Chambers,

Most of our churches today are not REAL CHRISTIAN CHURCHES. The Liberals are taking over even the “EVANGELICAL” CHURCHES. The more liberal the churches become, the less Christian they are. Yes, God’s Judgment is comming to the churches, especially to the ones that turned away from them into apostasy. God is really angry at us. Obama had his membership in one of these corrupted churches of Laodicea. Only when it became a political liability that he got out of it. America is exactly on the same track as Israel was in the time of Jeremiah. Here is what the Lord Jesus would say to us today especially to those of us in organized religion in America and in Europe. Jesus would say this based on Jeremiah 7:2-15,20. Jesus would say this “I WILL GIVE AMERICA OVER TO THE BABYLONIANS 9ARMIES OF THE ANTI-CHRIST INCUDING ROME, THE MUSLIM JIHAHDIST TERRORSITS,AND OTHER EVIL ARMIES) AND THEY SHALL SET FIRE TO YOUR CHURCH BUILDINGS AND CATHEDRALS (Jeremiah 7:2-15, 20)Re-Fulfilled), AND THESE WILL BE BURNED WITH FIRE. NOT ONE STONE OR BRICK SHALL BE LEFT UPON ANOTHER EXCEPT AS RUINS.” Yes that is what Jesus would most likely say to us today because of our CORRUPT CHURCHES. As in Jeremiah or in AD 70, our OUR TEMPLES (CHURCH BUILDINGS AND CATHEDRALS AND “WORSHIP CENTERS” WILL BE BURNED DOWN OR QUAKED (earthquakes) DOWN. It is AD 70 all over again, but for America. WHen will the churches be burned? We do not know exactly when. It will probably will be during the WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS. If Our cities get burned by invading armies, so will our temples too. AN ECONOMIC CRISIS AND AUSTERITY MEASURES CAN PROVOKE RIOTS (LOCAL WARS), AS IT HAS IN GREECE PLUNGING THAT COUNTRY INTO CIVIL WAR. Any of these crisis can cause our churches and cities to be burned. JEREMIAH WOULD SAY EXACTLY THE SAME THING TO US TODAY THAT HE SAID TO ISRAEL THEN. The great Majority of the churches are not really Christian.

What do you think of this, Joe?

    SIncerely,

    Keith Black

  2. We Christians may disagree in the details about how the Holy Spirit manifests himself, but we should all agree that without his presence, we can do nothing at all. Many of the mainstream liberal churches today thought that “tolerance” for just about anything including homosexual behavior would fill their pews with people (not to mention the cash they’d bring to the collection plates. Instead, these places are the heirs to an aging and diminishing membership – and deserved so, if you ask me!

The recent popular appeal of “The Bible” on the History Channel, though not a perfect rendering of the events it covered, shows there is still a deep hunger among people to learn about God that is not being met in most of the church world today.

A church which has pushed out the Holy Spirit by accepting the false doctrines of men over that of the Bible is only a social club and nothing more, despite any “good works” it might be performing, or how impressive its worship ceremonies might appear.

It becomes nothing more than a whitewashed tomb, appealing to the eye on the outside and full of dead men’s bones and corruption within, just as empty of God’s Presence as Herod’s temple was in Jesus’ time.

The arrogant, blind, church of Laodicea is unfortunately still with us today.
