The Epistle to the Ephesians states, “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world… Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself” (Ephesians 1:4a and 5a). He created us for himself and chose each one of us to be His saints and to bring Him praise. The entire matter of sin is an abrasion to destroy God’s created family. An enemy invaded our world after rebelling in Heaven and leading an uprising among the angels. It has been war ever since.

His Son came to purchase back that which was lost. No man or woman has ever been less than loved by the Creator. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). The love of the Father and His Son for us is a miracle. Apostle Peter said, “To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious” (I Peter 2:4).

Those words about Jesus Christ show how He was disallowed or rejected of men, but still the chosen of God. The Apostle then puts us in a similar state, “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ” (I Peter 2:5).

We are a chosen generation. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (I Peter 2:9).

Jesus said to His disciples, “…Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?” (John 6:70). It’s extremely sad to see people that no one can doubt were chosen of Christ turn to the devils. Jesus said, “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14). He has chosen every soul in His work of grace and His Spirit issues the call to them. Those that surrender to that call become the chosen of His Spiritual kingdom. It is one thing to be part pf the chosen family of creation and another to be part of the chosen family of God in redemption.

Our great God desires nothing less than to make us His chosen. The greatest life on earth is to live within the family of His chosen saints. He “…predestinated us unto the adoption of children…” (Ephesians 1:5). He desires to care for us as a Father does His children. The Bible describes the many provisions for the chosen family.

He wants to be our Shepherd and watch over our soul. He wants to be our counselor and guide our steps. He wants to be our healer and release the healing virtue upon our bodies. He will feed us with the Bread of Life and quench our thirst with the Water of Life. His Word is living truth that sanctifies the hungry soul. He walks in the shadow to meet you on dark days. Remember when the three Hebrew boys walked out of the furnace, no one saw the Fourth man leave. He still walks in the furnace with the faithful. He is everything His chosen saints need.
