Inspiration
Matthew 5:13
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if
the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth
good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of
men.

A Christian planted in the House
of God is just as absolutely necessary as a tomato plant planted in good
soil. Neither the Christian nor the
tomato plant will survive without being planted. The order of God’s universe is
established to make every part productive and healthy. Nowhere is that order more beautiful
than in the spiritual kingdom of God.
You do not need to scream at a tomato plant to get tomatoes, all you need
to do is plant it in rich soil and water it properly. Even so is the child of God. Any person reading this article, once
they are “born again” by the Blood, can carefully surrender to be planted in the
House of God and become a “watered garden” for the
Lord.
God’s Word is so powerful to teach
us this great truth. David wrote by
the Holy God, “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow
like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that
be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our
God. They shall still bring forth
fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” (Psalms 92:12-14).
Apostle Paul writing about the Day
of Pentecost said, “And the Lord added (planted) to the church daily such as
should be saved.” (Acts 2:47)
Being saved without being planted is no different than having a
miscarriage. The House of God is
the dwelling place of the righteous.
When our roots are deeply established in the Words of God and the feeder
roots are seeking the life of the Spirit and the Word, our soul will quickly
grow into maturity and usefulness.
Such a planted soul, “shall flourish in the courts of our God.”
(Psalms 92:13).
Old age will be glorious for these
happy saints. They do not retire to
a rocking chair but bring forth fruit right on with their gray heads. “They shall still bring forth fruit
in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” (Psalms 92:14) Our society is full of dysfunctional old
people living like broken and sad saints.
It’s ridiculous to watch such misery. Saints planted in the House of God will
never be fruitless or barren but productive and
blessed.
If there is no House of God where you can be planted,
then turn a room of your house into a church, place a makeshift altar in the
center, hang an empty cross on the wall, and plant yourself in the Word. Keep every Lord’s Day holy and spend
much time in prayer. Jesus said,
“My house shall be called the house of prayer.” (Matthew 21:13) Soon the Spirit will inhabit His church
and God will do His work. Invite
some saint you meet to join you and before long a church will begin to
grow. Wait on God patiently. He and His Word cannot fail. Remember, it was prophesied of Jesus
Christ, “The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.” (John 2:17, Psalms
69:9)
